Spherical abutments

A spherical head or spherical attachment is a kind of anchorages of removable partial dentures. It provides strong connection, is aesthetically designed and best suited for taking care of oral and denture hygiene.

They are used with stable and movable head in varied sizes and with various slope due to the kind of used implant. Due to the shape and mobility spherical heads are convenient in hooding or removal of the prosthesis which reduces the level of tissue injures of oral cavity and soothes nonparallel fixation of the implants, if that is the case.

Spherical abutments are used with retention caps and special guiding rings which improve the prosthesis fixation and decrease the level of implant wear.

The chance of self-unscrewing in case of a proper installation of the spherical attachments is extremely low.
