Multiple implantations at reduced bone supply with a special implant design
This case study describes the rehabilitation of a 67-year-old patient with severely reduced maxillary bone volume who desired a fixed prosthetic restoration instead of a removable denture. Using the Leader implant system by NIKO Dental, the clinicians performed multiple implant placements combined with a simultaneous external sinus lift and bone augmentation. Despite significant bone loss and sinus perforation, high primary stability was achieved due to the implant s root-shaped, widening design and clean surface characteristics. After a four-month osseointegration period, the case demonstrated that even highly compromised bone situations can be successfully treated with the right surgical protocol and implant system.
- Treatment of severe maxillary atrophy and sinus perforation using simultaneous sinus lift, augmentation, and four implant placements.
- High primary stability achieved in structurally weak bone thanks to the special root-shaped design of the Leader implant.
- Successful fixed restoration plan in a complex case, with a four-month healing phase to ensure reliable osseointegration

Comparative Analysis of Surface and Chemical of the National Academy of Science (NAS) of Composition of Various Dental Implant Systems Institute of Physiology n/a Bogomolets, A.A. of and Their Influence on Degree of Sensitization in Humans
This comparative scientific study analyzed the surface topography and chemical composition of five dental implant systems to evaluate their influence on osseointegration and patient sensitization. Using scanning electron microscopy and chemical spectrum analysis, researchers found that implants containing contaminants such as aluminum, iron, and vanadium were associated with higher rates of inflammatory reactions and early rejection. In contrast, implants made of pure titanium with a clean, evenly structured surface demonstrated optimal bone integration and no signs of sensitization. Notably, NDI Medical (De Luxe system) showed 100% titanium purity, developed microgeometry, and no recorded implant rejection in the study period.
- Surface purity and chemical composition directly influence osseointegration and biologicalresponse.
- Implants containing aluminum, iron, or vanadium contaminants showed increased risk of periimplant pathology and rejection (≈5% in some systems).
- NDI Medical (De Luxe) demonstrated pure titanium composition, optimized surface microstructure, and zero rejection cases in the study.
